Update Log
Some of you may be wondering why I put DOF up. I think my wife wonders the very same thing, and she's been known to prowl my website from time to time, so I thought maybe it was time for a brief explanation.
I currently have a very good job in the field I went to school in. The bills get paid and there's even some left over to save towards retirement. All that being said, I can't think of anything I'd like more than to be able to work from home as a professional writer.
I've now spent the last five years or so writing in an effort to be able to someday do it full time. Finding time to crank out full sized novels around a demanding career hasn't been easy, but I'm coming to find that the challenges are just getting started.
Getting published is tough, but I can't see any reason to let the books I've unsuccessfully shopped around continue to just gather metaphorical dust on my hard drive. Instead I'm hoping by putting them on DOF that two things will happen.
Firstly that people will like the sections I've put up to pay a modest fee and buy the rest of the book, and secondly that they'll tell their friends about DOF. It's all a bit of a long shot obviously, but most good things in life are, and possibly along the way I'll get the chance to share some of my work with others who'll like living there as much as I did while I wrote it.
If you're one of those who's come to love Va'del, Jain, Geoffry, Melody, Venice or Alec please remember to let me know the things you liked or didn't like about the books. Writing can be lonely work and maybe your encouragement will help me get through that next re-write.
For now, thanks again for stopping by. I hope you enjoy your time here.
