Update Log
My current priority is finishing up my last editing pass for The Trial. I've currently got the first 6 chapters up on DOF. Once the rest of the book has been gone through I'm going to put it up on I-fiction and give people the option of purchasing it. At this point I'm thinking a fairly low price point, probably $2.
The Greater Darkness
The next task on the list will be one last check through of The Greater Darkness (TGD), and then I'll post the entire book one chapter at a time, serial style.
Of course this is all going to take some time, more probably than my readers would like, and definitely more than I'd consider optimal, but hopefully everyone will be patient. I'm firmly committed to at least one update per week, so if you stop by once a week there will be some kind of new content added to the site. With all 6 free chapters of The Trial up I'll be adding to Behind the Curtain until I can finish the editing process, and then you'll start seeing chapters from TGD go up.
Once that's all finished up I've got a choice ahead of me. I'll list the likely options below, please feel free to contact me and let me know which you think I should work on. I'm honestly leaning towards focusing on editing and marketing Broken and Torn around, but if I get enough feedback otherwise I might pursue one of the other options.
Serial Story:
Ironically enough, my Serial Story project is the entire reason I began thinking about putting a website up, and it's the piece that I haven't really even started. Still, I've done some outlining work on it, and it's got some really exciting aspects to it.
The tentative plan is to take advantage of some of the unique aspects of HTML and the internet in general to construct something that couldn't be done in a more traditional format. The end result will hopefully come across as a cross between the X-files and the radio production of War of the Worlds.
The Conflict:
This is still nothing more than a working title for the next book in The Guadel Chronicles. I actually finished the rough draft to this one nearly two years ago, but I'm somewhat better now than I was back then, so I expect that there is still quite a bit of editing ahead of me. Even so, it's still something that I should be able to finish up in the course of a few months. I honestly love this story, both for it's own sake and for the way it sets the stage for some of the things that I've got slated to happen in book 3 of the series.
Broken & Torn
I'm afraid I can't tell you much about this one other than that it's my most recent effort, and that I'm really excited about the concept and where it could go. Right now it's incredibly huge (around 230k words), so there is a hefty amount of editing that needs to happen, but if I can get the essential points boiled down just a little bit more it's got the ability to appeal to an incredibly large audience.
Once again, thanks for stopping by, I hope you're enjoying all the stories, thoughts and writing advice. If you are, please remember to let your friends know about DOF.
